Trying to break into the Film Industry?
This book is for you! Read on!
“I accidentally found a career in the Film Business. I was nineteen and worked a summer job at a North Sydney Film Studio that specialized in TV commercials. I earned a whopping $45/week to sweep the stages and other menial tasks. In a short two months' time, I was offered a position as a Lighting Technician. The prospect thrilled me, and I accepted! I was a quick learner and a hard worker. My Fascination became a passion. My enthusiasm was infectious and people took notice. I fell in love with the Business. More than thirty years have passed. I have been to the places, stood in the spots, and experienced the thrills that are the substance of every film novice's dream. Along the way, I've cashed the checks, enjoyed the ride, and established a reputation of which I am proud. It's been an exhilarating journey from there to here. I am grateful. I also confess that, sometimes, it seems surreal. There are several decent technical manuals dedicated to the tutelage of Film Technicians. However, I am unaware of a single publication that defines: who we are, what we do, set etiquette, cinematic language, invaluable instructions, tips from the trade, and caring, practical advice to avoid deadly career pitfalls. Until now. It's all here!”
Best wishes in your journey,
Peter Clarson
